Day 21: Drained

Today’s Agenda:  Cardio Activity (not completed)

We made it back from Blackhawk – not rich, but Melissa found a total of $90 on the ground – and I’m exhausted.  Did quite a bit of walking last night and was up a lot later than usual.  So getting out and doing something sounds like too much work.

I did take a 2-hour nap.  May not have been cardio but the rest was much needed.  My body thanked me.

Word of Advice: Don’t cut out all rest days.  Our bodies need some downtime.  It is needed mentally too.  A training plan can be grueling.  Stop and take a day to reflect – watch a movie, take a nap, or do both like I did.

Although it may seem counter-intuitive to many runners, much of the benefit of any workout comes in the time after the workout while the runner is recovering from it says Joe English, writer and runner.
