Day 45:

Wednesday’s Agenda:  7-mile run.
Today’s Agenda:  4-mile run.

My body has recovered after AFC half-marathon…mostly.  There are still some minor aches.  Yesterday I woke up to find most the soreness vanished.  I can walk downstairs without grunting.  My arms can be raised above my head.  Constant fatigue, gone.  I woke a whole new person.

A change in routine was made now that Melissa is back in school.  Seven miles is tough to get in before she leaves so we did a night the first night run of our marathon training.

The heat in late afternoon beat down on me.  The first mile was fine but I died soon after.  Walk breaks were constant.  I turned back home early because I accepted the fact today was “one of those days.”  I completed 4 of the 7 miles on the schedule.  Today, the heat won.

Sleep felt so good after that experience.  It was short.  Had to get up by 5:00 a.m. to do today’s 4-mile run.

While no soreness is really felt during non-activity hours, running makes me aware of it.  I kept going for 2 miles before I had to walk.  I was done fighting the fatigue.  Minimizing my effort, I did a lot of walking home.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s rest-day.

Get out and fill your passion bucket,

Kyle
